It is composed of windings that generate alternating current electricity. It is a wire coil found inside the engine case. A magnet attached to a shaft spins within the stator, producing alternating current (AC). That current flows through the casing on very heavy gauge wire and then into the rectifier/regulator, which transforms it to DC power with a steady output.
