How to Install Head Gaskets for the Sierra 18-3832:

Remove any unwanted objects and old gaskets from the mating surface.

For warpage and distortion, inspect the head and the block. Slide a feeler gauge between the surface and the straightedge after placing a straightedge on the surface lengthwise. The surface shouldn't deviate from flatness by more than.003".

The silicone seal should be facing the block when you install the gasket.
