Some fuel-injected machines also feature two fuel pumps: a low-pressure/high-volume supply pump inside the tank and a high-pressure/low-volume pump on or close to the engine. Inefficient and polluting, a machine will run rough and prosperous if the fuel pressure is too high because it won't consume all the fuel pumps. The engine could stall, misfire, or run lean if the pressure is too low.
