The SeaStar Rack steering system is a one-of-a-kind back-mount Rack that enables quick and easy installation while providing an accurate and pleasant steering "feel." Outboard and sterndrive boats are both compatible. The SeaStar Rack system replaces Teleflex "The Rack" steering without requiring dash alteration on practically all power-assisted stern drive boats with wheels up to 16" diameter. It's ideal for power-steered ships that don't require No-Feedback Systems.
With a cable and helm that attach simply from behind the dash, the Back Mount Rack Steering System provides the precision and comfort of four turns lock-to-lock steering. This is the most excellent 4-turn option for power-steered boats in single cable layouts.

Just about all the Power-Assisted Sterndrive and Inboard Boats have 16-inch Diameter Wheels.
In 1984 and Newer Models, SS141xx Steering Replaced SeaStar Solutions' The Rack' Steering without Dash Modification (SSC134xx Back Mount Rack Cable Enclosed is required).

Note: This system is only for use with a single station. Components for Dual Cable Systems are available, but for all Dual Cable Steered, Non-Power Assisted Outboards, we recommend No Feedback (N.F.B.) Steering. This system is solely recommended as a replacement for the boat builder's original system. For outboard applications, SeaStar Solutions always recommends N.F.B. Helms.
Note that these systems will not work with SSC124xx Old Style Rack Cables.
Wedge Kit Option: Order Kit SB27449P separately if you want your steering wheel and helmet to be at a 20-degree angle to the front of your dash.
