The Fuel Pump Diaphragm is for use with Yamaha Outboard. This part type is also called the carburetor accelerator pump diaphragm. It functions as a composite membrane that flexes up and down over a fuel bowl with input and output. Every valve is in place to ensure a one-way motion of the fluid. When the diaphragm moves up, it creates a vacuum that pulls the fuel from the tank into the fuel bowl. To know if it's working, attach another fuel line to the outlet, clamp it tightly, and prime the bulb. If there are fuel leaks through it when there is a problem in the fuel pump diaphragm.
