A propeller, also known as the Prop, is the tail component of an engine's drive train. A propeller is a revolving fan-like device that uses the power generated and delivered by the ship's primary engine to drive the boat.
A four-blade propeller will typically have a smaller diameter for the same pitch size as a three-blade propeller. It is one of the reasons why they spin up rapidly and produce strong acceleration. The blades are generally a little smaller. Thus, the second blade will have a greater overall blade area and a better grip on the water.
